How Much Memory is in my Linux Box?

I came across a really handy tool for listing the number of RAM sockets you have, and what’s currently in them all. The tool is dmidecode, and it’s installed by default on Debian Etch:

drevil:~# dmidecode -t memory
# dmidecode 2.8
SMBIOS 2.3 present.
